Carl’s journey in the automotive industry started straight out of school with a mechanical apprenticeship.
Over the years, he built on that foundation with extensive BMW factory training,
gaining a reputation for precision and technical know-how.
That skill and attention to detail opened the door to an exciting role leading a Land Rover restoration and engine conversion workshop. The work was thriving, but when COVID-19 hit, the owners made the difficult decision to sell and the business relocated further from home.
From there, Carl joined BM Performance Centre, where he found what the fabrication industry was missing high-end custom work that was both mechanically sound and built to last. His trade background as a mechanic, combined with his TIG welding skills in stainless steel, aluminium, and titanium, meant he could deliver fabrication that not only looked sharp but worked properly. This is where Tig Tac was built.
Carl with support from his wife (also from the automotive industry) took the step and open Tig Tac Fabrication. Together they built the workshop in Seaford, creating a space where his skills and passion could grow, and where customers could count on honest, skilled workmanship.
Today, Tig Tac handles a wide range of projects: from exhaust systems, engine conversions, and marine fabrication to fire pits, trailer modifications, dog boxes, gates, art pieces, and even rocket stoves. Large-scale or one-off, Carl brings the same focus on quality and detail to every project.
What sets Tig Tac apart is trust. Carl isn’t just a fabricator, he’s a trade-qualified mechanic with decades of experience. That rare mix means every job is thought through mechanically as well as structurally. Customers know they’ll walk away with a result that works, looks right, and lasts or, if the idea isn’t feasible or within budget, they’ll still leave with honest advice they can rely on.
